Alamo Commutes users and supporters, thank you for a paw-some first Paws Your Commute Challenge! Like thousands of employees across the Alamo Area, we also worked from home. Some of us enjoyed extra family time, a new reason to get outside, and the luckiest of us worked with some fluffy new co-woofers. As a community, we helped to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduced air pollution – earning us a $1,000 donation to the San Antonio Food Bank, courtesy of our partner, Agile Mile.
And congratulations to the winners of the Paws Your Commute Challenge! Winners were randomly selected from nearly 300 Alamo Commutes users that recorded their telecommutes.
Some winners shared their favorite part of working from home:
- "I enjoy not having to wear shoes while telecommuting!”
- “Not driving in traffic”
- “I enjoy the extra time with family, but I really miss my bicycle commute!”
- “Time usually spent commuting becomes extra sleep.”
- “Being with my family. Sometimes we work together at the dining room table. When we are in separate rooms, we tend to meet up in the kitchen for food.”
People also shared pictures of their work-from-home set-up on social media.
Some winners are not planning to ever return to work full-time because working from home has been so great! If you’d like more information on how to transition to working from home full-time (or convincing your boss to let you), please email lowder@alamoareampo.org.
